However, the fixed deposit system is now only applicable to children who have lost both parents due to Covid. Thus, of the 74 children eligible for the program, 19 have already received the amount deposited in their account.
Ashwini Kamble, Head of the District Women’s and Child Welfare (WCD) Department, said: âWe received 2,769 names of which we were able to verify 2,228 names of children who have lost their parents to their parents. of infection. Of the total, 14 children are admitted to homes and orphanages. We distributed the forms to open a fixed deposit account for 51 children of which 43 forms have already been submitted to the collector’s office and for 19 children the fixed deposit account has already been opened as a joint account in the name of the child and the CMB district officer. The program is only eligible for children who have lost both parents and for other children we expect from a budget allowance and therefore they would also receive coverage.
For the other children as well, the administration verified the names of 1,089 children during home visits. She said: “We are in contact with the children to resolve a number of issues, whether it is regarding tuition admission, college admission and also issues related to property or loans. . ”
