SKOWHEGAN – Forbes, in collaboration with Statista Inc, the world leader in industry rankings and statistics, recently announced the top banks in each of the 50 states according to consumer rankings. Skowhegan Savings was recognized as the best bank in Maine in 2021 and the third in the country, making the bank the only Maine-based bank to make this year’s top five.
“I was delighted to learn that our team’s hard work and commitment to customer service have been recognized by such a distinguished company,” said David Cyr, President and CEO.
Each year, Forbes and Statista identify the best U.S. banks in 2021 based on an independent survey of approximately 25,000 U.S. consumers who were asked to rate the banks with which they have or have ever had checking accounts. Of the 4,978 FDIC-insured banks in the United States, only 135, or 2.75%, were on this year’s list. “Skowhegan Savings in Skowhegan, Maine is at the top of our list for the state of Maine,” Forbes wrote. According to the survey, banks in the United States averaged an overall satisfaction score of 79.1 out of 100, while Skowhegan Savings scored 93.56, which places it at the top of their list for Maine and third in the country.
“Skowhegan Savings has strived to make our communities a better place to live and work for over 150 years by providing valuable financial services to the people of Maine and supporting the regions we serve,” continued Cyr. “We look forward to continuing this mission in the future. ”
