Link to Libraries receives donation from Monson Savings Bank

MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) – Monson Savings Bank (MSB) is celebrating its 150th anniversary by supporting the communities it serves by donating to local organizations.

MSB recently presented a check for $1,500 to Link to librariesa non-profit organization that distributes new books to schools and home libraries for children in need.

“Monson Savings Bank is proud to show its support for the wonderful local organization, Link to Libraries,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO. “Unfortunately, not all children have access to age-appropriate reading materials, Link to Libraries fills that gap. This organization gives our local young people the precious gift of reading, empowering so many children in our communities to have access to books.Through Link to Libraries, children’s literacy and language skills are positively impacted, helping them succeed in their educational and personal journeys.

“We very much appreciate Monson Savings Bank’s longstanding support of Link to Libraries. Monson Savings is an incredible community partner, not only to our organization, but to many others in our community,” said Laurie Flynn, President and CEO of Link to Libraries. “Thank you to everyone who voted for the library link in the Monson Savings Community Giving Initiative. We are delighted to put these funds to good use, buying books and distributing them to the children who need them most.

The donation was made possible through public participation. The bank asked local residents to vote on local charities that would benefit from the 2022 Monson Savings Bank Community giving initiative.
