Sandra Raum, 80, of Gladbrook, IA, died Friday, January 14, 2022 at her residence in the care of Cedar Valley Hospice in Gladbrook. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Peace United Christ of Christ in Gladbrook. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Sandra was born on May 3, 1941 to Leon and Edna (Wilhimena Backen) Kesl in Tama, IA. She grew up in southern Tama County and graduated from Tama High School in 1959. Sandra was united in marriage to Richard “Ed” Rowe in 1960 and was blessed with two children; Doug and Sharry. They then divorced. In 1969 Sandra married Larry Raum and had a daughter Bonnie together. Throughout her life, Sandra worked as an accountant at the Security Savings Bank in Marshalltown, where she later retired in 2000. She was a member of the Women’s Club, the Peace Church Women’s Fellowship and the Legion Auxiliary. Sandra enjoyed bowling, playing cards, volunteering at the Gladbrook Theater and having coffee at the library on Friday afternoons.

Sandra will be missed by her three children; Douglas (Andrea) Rowe of Gladbrook, Sharry Johnson of Ames, RN, Bonnie (Scott) Murty of Traer, RN, six grandchildren; Alex Rowe, Taylor (Keith) White, Drew (Taylor) Raum, Cole Gilmore, Corissa (Kyle) Snider, Shawn Eisele, Faith (Michael Beck) Eisele, Ross Murty. Seven great-grandchildren; Scarlett White, Willow White, Joella Snider, Annalize Snider, Elliott Harmon, Madelyn Raum and Hadley Eisele. Two sisters; Kay Alston, Donna Stone, three brothers; Gary Kesl, Jim Kesl, Robert “Bob” Kesl, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Larry, her parents and a son-in-law, Pat Hilsabeck.
