Suryoday Small Finance Bank launches “health and wellness savings account”

Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SSFB) has launched a “health and wellness savings account”, offering additional health insurance of 25 lakhs, an annual health care package and emergency medical care services by ambulance.

The bank, in a statement, said: “The supplementary health insurance and the health package are free for one year after opening the account. Free ambulance service up to a distance of 20 km will be available in 102 locations across the country until the end of March 2022. ”

A resident natural person (18 to 65) can open the “Suryoday Health and Welfare Savings Account” either alone or jointly.

The criteria for opening the premium savings account include maintaining an average monthly balance of 3 lakh and eligibility according to the key health declaration form, the bank said.

R Baskar Babu, Managing Director and CEO of Suryoday Small Finance Bank, said, “Treating medical emergencies can lead to financial setback. Therefore, we decided to create a “Suryoday health and wellness savings account” to cushion this impact.

“We want to be part of holistic financial and health planning for the whole family, so that not only does their wealth increase, but we also make sure that they don’t pay out in a medical emergency.”

Characteristics

Some of the features of the new product include a RuPay “Platinum” secure chip debit card variant, a daily ATM withdrawal limit of 1.50 lakh, a daily point-of-sale usage limit of 3 lakh. Existing customers of the savings account can switch to the health and wellness savings account.

Based on the savings account balance, SSFB currently offers 4% interest on the balance up to 1 lakh, 6.25% on balances over 1 lakh and up to 10 lakh, and 6% on balances greater than 10 lakhs. .
