Troy Music Hall hosts Renaissance 2022: The Legacy Tour


the Troy Savings Bank Music Room is thrilled to host Renaissance 2022: The Legacy Tour on October 27th. This celebration of Annie Haslam’s 75th birthday displays the classical Renaissance with the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra and music from Haslam’s solo career.

Renaissance are a band with a rich, one-of-a-kind history as progressive rock pioneers that rose from the ashes of founding British rock band, The Yardbirds. Acclaimed for their unique blend of progressive rock with classical and symphonic influences, the band’s career now spans over fifty years, led by the five-octave vocals of Annie Haslam and the masterful songwriting skills of the late Michael Dunford. and Betty Thatcher. They are widely regarded as the band that has most successfully and consistently used the sound of a full orchestra in their recordings.

The band have toured the world and performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Chorale Society. Renaissance had a top ten in the UK with their song “Northern Lights” which still demands release to this day.

During this 2022 concert season, the band will travel internationally and across the United States, performing a special show to celebrate Annie Haslam’s 75th birthday. The repertoire will include many Renaissance classics as well as special selections from Haslam’s many solo releases.

Additionally, this show will feature the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra, a handpicked assemblage of 10 orchestral musicians to bring back the sound of classic albums.
